ICVL Mozambique has awarded RITES Limited a significant international order for the provision of new Cape Gauge Diesel Electric Locomotives and preventative maintenance services. On January 27, 2026, the business notified stock markets in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations after receiving the Letter of Intent for the project.
As part of the agreement, RITES will supply new Cape Gauge Diesel Electric Locomotives and offer consumable spare parts and preventative maintenance services at the project site. The scope of work emphasises RITES’ expanding involvement in global railway infrastructure projects by encompassing both supply and long-term maintenance assistance. The order, which is worth USD 20.60 million, was given by an international organisation.
According to the conditions of the deal, maintenance services will be rendered over a 24-month period, while the delivery of locomotives is expected to be finished within 15 months. RITES emphasised that the contract does not come within related party transactions and that neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any stake in the awarding organisation. The order expands RITES’s global reach and solidifies its standing as a major participant in rolling stock solution exports and railway engineering consulting.
