India is expected to make a significant appearance at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual conference in Davos from January 19–23, which will include chief ministers, union ministers, and more than 100 CEOs from top companies.
India wants to draw in foreign investment since it is the fastest-growing major economy. Ashwini Vaishnaw (Railways, Information & Broadcasting), Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Agriculture), Pralhad Joshi (Renewable Energy), and K Rammohan Naidu (Civil Aviation) are among the important Union ministers in attendance.
State leaders such as Hemant Soren (Jharkhand), N Chandrababu Naidu (Andhra Pradesh), and Devendra Fadnavis (Maharashtra) would also look for investments for their areas.
The topic for this year, “Spirit of Dialogue”, tackles the geopolitical tensions and US tariffs that have an impact on the world economy. Notably, in the midst of contentious tariff plans that affect NATO countries, US President Donald Trump will head the largest American delegation.
Geoeconomic conflict is the main concern, according to the WEF’s “Global Risks Report 2026”, with 50% of respondents predicting global volatility between 2026 and 2028. Along with renowned AI leaders like Jensen Huang and Satya Nadella, the conference will bring together approximately 3,000 executives from more than 130 nations, including notable CEOs and politicians.
