India has enhanced its global leadership in Traditional Medicine during the WHO Global Summit in New Delhi through bilateral meetings with 16 nations.
Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav expressed gratitude to WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus for promoting Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine globally.
The summit included contributions from experts from diverse countries such as Australia, Morocco, Iran, Uganda, Canada, Switzerland, USA, UK, Colombia, Brazil, New Zealand, Germany, Nepal, South Korea, and Sri Lanka, who shared insights in various plenary and parallel sessions.
Notably, India and Cuba signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration on Ayurveda through a joint working group led by AIIA. Global leaders emphasized the importance of evidence-driven investment, robust regulations, and resilient health systems in line with the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Strategy for 2025–2034.
The plenary sessions underscored the significance of research, governance, and evidence-based pathways for the advancement of Traditional Medicine.
