President Murmu: India Targeting Global Leadership in Solar Energy by 2050

India aims to become a global hub for solar energy by 2050, as stated by President Droupadi Murmu during the eighth session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).

She emphasized India’s commitment to meeting clean energy targets and fostering innovation and knowledge exchange.

The President urged member countries to focus on the impact of solar energy on lives, highlighting its role in job creation, women’s leadership, and rural development. She underlined the need for urgent climate action and the significance of solar energy in promoting social and energy equity.

Minister Pralhad Joshi noted India’s advancement in renewable energy capacity, achieving significant milestones ahead of schedule under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Overall, the ISA aims to create a solar-powered future that addresses the energy needs of developing nations.
