National Security Advisors (NSAs) Ajit Doval of India and Nathalie G. Drouin of Canada met in New Delhi on September 18 to discuss enhancing bilateral relations in counterterrorism, combating organized crime, and intelligence sharing.
Following previous discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during the G7 Summit, the NSAs emphasized rebuilding trust and cooperation.
The Ministry of External Affairs stressed Canada’s responsibility to secure Indian diplomatic missions amid rising Khalistani threats, following allegations made by Trudeau regarding India’s involvement in the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India has rejected these claims as baseless and accused Canada of harboring anti-India elements.
