World Bicycle Day was observed with great enthusiasm at NTPC Bongaigaon

New Delhi, June 04: World Bicycle Day was observed with great enthusiasm at NTPC Bongaigaon under the aegis of the station’s Sports Council. The event witnessed a vibrant turnout as employees, ladies, and children from the township came together to promote the benefits of cycling and a healthy lifestyle.

 The cycle rally was ceremoniously flagged off by Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, in the presence of Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon. Also present on the occasion were Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M), and Soumya Kar, Vice President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club.

Covering a distance of over 3 kilometers, the rally resonated with the spirit of fitness, sustainability, and community bonding. The riders, including enthusiastic children and residents, pedaled through the township with messages promoting eco-friendly transportation and active living. Matira said that NTPC Bongaigaon continues to actively promote wellness, environmental consciousness. Kar also spoke on the occasion and encouraged such community engagement through meaningful initiatives.

Adding a unique dimension to the event, a monthly cycling challenge is also being planned to sustain the momentum. The competition will track the highest rides among participants through a third-party mobile application, encouraging a culture of regular cycling and fitness.
