The department recorded strong growth across key business segments. Its parcel business expanded 71% year-on-year, while Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) reported combined growth of 44%. International business revenue increased by 38% compared with the year-ago quarter.

First-Half Revenue Reaches ₹8,213 Crore
India Post’s cumulative revenue for April–September 2026 reached approximately ₹8,213 crore, up nearly 24% from around ₹6,500 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The department also improved its expenditure coverage ratio (ECR), excluding pension liabilities, to 62% from 54% a year earlier, indicating an improvement in operational efficiency.
India Post Reviews Performance Across Postal Circles
Reviewing performance across the department’s 23 postal circles, Scindia highlighted the results achieved by Bihar, West Bengal and North East circles, which exceeded expectations across key business parameters.
According to the minister, 19 circles achieved more than 80% of their quarterly targets. The department is focusing on stronger coordination across circles, business growth and improved customer service.
India Post’s latest results reflect increased contributions from parcels, insurance and international services, alongside improved expenditure coverage. Sustaining this growth will depend on expanding customer-focused services, strengthening operational efficiency and maintaining performance across its postal circles.
