MCL has appointed Nirmal Kumar Singh as Director (Finance). He assumed charge at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited on Monday.
Singh brings more than three decades of experience in public-sector finance, digital transformation and strategic decision-making.
MCL Gets New Director (Finance)
Singh joins MCL after a long career with Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL) Bokaro Steel Plant.
He joined the plant as Junior Manager in June 1995. He later rose to the position of Chief General Manager and handled several key responsibilities across finance and accounts.
His experience includes financial management, accounting reforms and digital initiatives.
Nirmal Kumar Singh’s Finance and Digital Expertise
At SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant, Singh led the implementation of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) at the plant.
He also developed an SAP-based automated system for compliant accounting. In addition, he worked on the implementation of the SAP Costing Module.
Singh also contributed to the digitisation of vendor payments and cash management processes.
MCL Director (Finance) Holds Strong Academic Credentials
Singh graduated with honours in Accounting and Finance from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, in 1990.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1994.
