The projects were announced as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan campaign.
The development works will cover Kirari, Bawana, Mundka, Narela and Nangloi Jat assembly constituencies.
The projects focus on strengthening roads, drains, sewerage and other essential civic infrastructure. They are expected to benefit around 1.75 lakh people.
53 Development Projects to Improve Roads and Drainage
Under the 53 development projects, 1,062 roads and lanes across 27 unauthorised colonies will be developed.
Around 89.82 km of roads and 147.69 km of drainage network will also be developed.
The stormwater drainage works are aimed at improving drainage and reducing waterlogging in the affected areas.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said development works are being undertaken in a planned manner in areas that have faced basic infrastructure challenges.
She said roads, drains, sewerage and drainage are essential civic amenities and that development benefits should reach different parts of Delhi.
Kirari Gets Largest Share of Development Projects
Kirari Assembly constituency accounts for the largest share of the 53 development projects.
A total of 27 development works will be undertaken across 14 unauthorised colonies at a cost of ₹105.51 crore.
The works include development of 640 roads and lanes, along with 50.71 km of roads and 101.42 km of drainage network.
The proposed stormwater drainage network is expected to improve drainage and help reduce waterlogging.
₹108.61 Crore Allocated for Four Other Constituencies
Nine development works worth ₹38.83 crore will be undertaken in Bawana.
Mundka will receive five works worth ₹22.05 crore, while four works worth ₹14.48 crore are planned in Narela.
Nangloi Jat will see eight development works at a cost of ₹33.25 crore.
Together, these projects will strengthen road and drainage infrastructure across the five assembly constituencies.
Drainage and Roads to Improve Local Connectivity
The stormwater drainage networks planned under the 53 development projects will support better drainage and help address waterlogging.
The development of paved roads and lanes is also expected to improve local connectivity.
According to the Delhi CMO statement, the road works will also help reduce dust generated by unpaved and damaged surfaces.
The projects form part of the Delhi government’s ongoing infrastructure development efforts in unauthorised colonies.
