NLC India Battery Project: NIRL Secures 275 MW Contract in Gujarat

NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL) has won a contract to set up a massive standalone battery energy storage system in Gujarat. NIRL, a wholly owned subsidiary of state-owned NLC India Limited, secured the project through a competitive bidding process. This milestone marks a significant expansion of the NLC India Renewables battery project portfolio in the Indian clean energy sector.

Regulatory Filing and Market Impact

GUVNL issued a formal Letter of Intent to NIRL following the finalization of the bid. Parent company NLC India Limited disclosed the development to stock exchanges in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Expanding the NLC India Renewables Battery Project Footprint

Grid-scale energy storage remains essential for grid stability as India expands its solar and wind power capacity. Winning this tender strengthens NIRL’s position in the standalone battery storage market. The 550 MWh capacity will assist GUVNL in balancing peak demand and integration of renewable energy in Gujarat.
