HCLTech has accelerated its climate commitments for FY26. The technology global enterprise achieved key 2030 environmental targets four years early while setting new ESG benchmarks across the IT sector. This progress highlights HCLTech sustainability leadership in driving large-scale decarbonization and corporate responsibility.
Driving Clean Energy and Decarbonization
HCLTech reduced its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 55.84% against its FY20 baseline. This performance surpasses its original 50% target for 2030. Total emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 dropped by 27.7% over the same period.
Clean energy now powers 49.79% of HCLTech’s global operations. Renewable sources fuel 89.65% of its data center electricity. Consequently, traditional energy use dropped 31% since FY20.
Pioneering Resource Efficiency
The company recorded an industry-low water consumption rate of 10.68 liters per capita per day. It actively replenishes 51 times the water its facilities consume globally.
All HCLTech campuses in India hold Zero Waste to Landfill Platinum certifications. Additionally, every corporate facility has earned Platinum or LEED Platinum green building credentials.
Investments in Workforce and HCLTech Sustainability Leadership
HCLTech directed 2.08% of its FY26 revenue toward employee wellbeing—the highest allocation in the IT industry. Women currently hold more than 50% of board seats and represent 29.6% of the workforce. Employment of people with disabilities grew by 27.4%.
Delivering Measurable Community Impact
Through the HCLFoundation, the company expanded its HCLTech Grant funding by 45% in FY26. Social and environmental initiatives have benefited over 8.4 million lives, restored 155 billion liters of water, and planted 3.5 million trees across India.
HCLTech maintains high ESG scores, including EcoVadis Gold and MSCI AA ratings. The company remains on track for its ultimate target: net-zero emissions by 2040.
