India SAF Conclave returns for its second edition in New Delhi from September 28. The Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) event will focus on multiple areas. Large-scale international SAF capacity-building sits high on the agenda. Technical programmes follow close behind. IATA’s target of achieving Net Zero by 2050 also anchors the discussions, according to a release.
Who Will Attend the India SAF Conclave
Leading Indian and international airlines are expected to participate. Airports will join the conversation too. Energy companies, technology developers, investors and financial institutions round out the participant list. Their presence creates real opportunities. Investment discussions can move forward. Technology partnerships can take shape. Project matchmaking and global market access become possible through direct engagement.
Building an Ecosystem, Not Just a Mandate
Rohit Kumar, Secretary General of SAF Association and CMAI, framed the opportunity clearly. India can become a global SAF hub, he said. But that requires an ecosystem. A mandate alone won’t get the job done. SAF Association’s focus is bringing multiple stakeholders together. Government, industry, technology, finance and global partners all need a seat at the table. The goal: turn India’s SAF ambition into actual projects, investment and production. SAF Association is organising the conclave.
Two-Day Agenda Covers Wide Ground
The programme runs across two days. Ministerial sessions open key discussions. Technical conferences dig into the details. Capacity-building workshops follow. Investor and buyer forums create direct deal-making opportunities. Leadership roundtables add strategic depth. B2B and B2G meetings drive practical outcomes. Technology showcases and exhibitions display new solutions. MoU signings are expected to close out several partnerships, the Association said.
India’s SAF Production Potential
Global studies point to a strong opportunity for India. The country could produce around 40 million tonnes of SAF annually by 2050. That figure represents about 10 per cent of global SAF production potential. This scale positions India as a serious player in the global SAF market.
Scale of Participation
The two-day meet is expected to draw over 1,000 delegates. More than 100 global speakers will take part. Stakeholders from over 25 countries are set to attend, reflecting strong international interest in India’s SAF ambitions.
