MRPL vigilance has a new Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO). Mohammed Ali Shihab A, IAS, has taken charge at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL). The 2011-batch Nagaland cadre officer has been appointed under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He will focus on strengthening the company’s vigilance and governance framework.
MRPL Vigilance Gets New Leadership
Mohammed Ali Shihab A, IAS, has assumed charge as Chief Vigilance Officer of MRPL. The Competent Authority, Government of India, approved his appointment under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Shihab belongs to the 2011 batch of the Nagaland cadre. He brings experience in public administration, governance and development.
During his career, Shihab has held key roles in the State Secretariat and District Administration. He has also worked across several development sectors of the Nagaland Government.
Focus on Governance and Accountability
Shihab’s administrative experience is expected to support MRPL’s focus on transparency, accountability and corporate governance.
As CVO, he will contribute to the company’s vigilance framework and governance processes. His experience in public administration is expected to support these objectives.
The appointment comes as public sector enterprises continue to strengthen internal controls, accountability and governance practices.

MRPL is a Schedule A Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) and a subsidiary of ONGC. The company operates under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
