Anuj Rathi and Prashant Parashar, who were previously executives at Swiggy and Zomato, have established an artificial intelligence firm called Profound. They have raised 1.5 million USD in preliminary funding to develop a platform that uses AI to portray professionals’ careers, according to the company’s announcement on Tuesday.
Several well-known tech entrepreneurs have put their money into the investment round. These include Sriharsha Majety, CEO of Swiggy, Nandan Reddy, co-founder of Swiggy, Pankaj Chaddah, former executive of Zomato, Harshil Mathur, CEO of Razorpay, Kunal Shah, global head of WhatsApp, and Bhuvan Gupta, co-founder of OfBusiness. Stellaris Venture Partners and 3one4 Capital, two venture capital firms, were also involved.
Profound plans to utilise the funds to hire more engineers and product managers, improve its artificial intelligence skills, and speed up the development of its engine for introductions and matchmaking.
In an initial 30-minute audio discussion, the Bengaluru-based firm assigns each user a “AI Rep” who learns about their work experience, skills, career objectives, and decision-making. The platform is marketing itself as an AI-native professional networking platform.
According to the business, the AI agent then becomes the user’s advocate, seeking out new professional prospects, making introductions, and suggesting contacts.According to chief executive officer and co-founder Anuj Rathi, “Profound gives each professional their own AI Rep,” much like agents and managers do for actors and athletes.
In addition, the platform lets recruiting managers build AI reps for available positions and teams, so businesses can have more natural discussions when describing hiring needs instead of writing lengthy job descriptions. This should help with candidate matching.
