Uttar Pradesh has set a ₹5 lakh crore annual export target for 2030, up from around ₹2 lakh crore currently, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said.
Uttar Pradesh has set a ₹5 lakh crore annual export target by 2030 as India expands its network of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and strengthens global market access.
Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal announced the target while addressing the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida.
He said higher exports, investment and wider access to international markets will support Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to become a $1 trillion economy.
₹5 Lakh Crore Target to Expand Global Market Access
Goyal said India’s expanding FTA network will provide Uttar Pradesh’s entrepreneurs with greater access to international markets.
Uttar Pradesh currently records annual exports of around ₹2 lakh crore. The state aims to increase this figure to ₹5 lakh crore by 2030.
He said new investments are expected to flow into India from across the world. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as an investment destination, supported by its industrial policies and schemes.
Major corporations and global investors are entering the state across sectors. These investments are creating employment opportunities and supporting industrial growth.
Goyal also highlighted the role of modern technology and the technical skills of Uttar Pradesh’s youth in the state’s economic development.
UP International Trade Show Supports Export Opportunities
The UP International Trade Show provides businesses with direct access to international markets.
Goyal highlighted the participation of six partner countries, hundreds of delegates and exhibitors, along with buyer-seller meetings.
The participation of international buyers, investors and other stakeholders can help Uttar Pradesh businesses build connections with overseas markets.
The event also provides opportunities for the state’s products, cuisines and services to reach international consumers.
Infrastructure and Investment Support the ₹5 Lakh Crore Goal
Goyal highlighted the development of expressways, modern airports and industrial parks across Uttar Pradesh.
He also pointed to the state’s growing presence in defence, semiconductors, electronics and other high-technology sectors.
The Minister referred to the expansion of a large robotics manufacturing facility in Greater Noida as an example of the state’s growing industrial and technological capabilities.
Exports, Investment and Tourism Drive State Growth
Goyal said the next phase of Uttar Pradesh’s development will focus on expanding exports, attracting international investment, strengthening tourism and building global recognition for brands from the state.
The ₹5 lakh crore export target forms part of this broader development strategy.
The Minister said wider market access through FTAs, higher investment, tourism and international recognition for Uttar Pradesh’s products and brands could create new opportunities for entrepreneurs.
He called for active participation from the state’s trade and industrial community to support this growth.
Goyal also stressed the need for close coordination between the Central and state governments.
He said participation from citizens, youth and stakeholders from the trade and industrial sectors will be important for sustaining Uttar Pradesh’s economic and export growth.
