India has announced 1,000 e-scholarships for Afghan nationals for the 2025-26 academic year, allowing them to pursue online undergraduate and postgraduate courses through the government’s e-VidyaBharati (e-VB) i-learn portal.
This initiative, managed by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the Special Scholarship Scheme for Afghan Nationals (SSSAN), is open to Afghan nationals aged 18-35. Applications are accepted from September 1 to September 6, 2025.
The scholarships cover tuition fees, and the awarded degrees will be recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), with physical certificates to be issued by the Indian Mission in Kabul.
This program reaffirms India’s commitment to supporting Afghan youth through educational and cultural exchange.
