Tripura CM Launches ₹33 Cr ADB-Backed Lake Rejuvenation Initiative

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the Rs 33.08 crore Maharaja Bir Bikram College Lake Rejuvenation Project, funded by the Asian Development Bank, on October 10.

The project aims to transform a previously degraded area into a 31-acre green public space, the largest in Tripura, improving safety with 60 CCTV cameras and regulated entry.

Enhancements include walking circuits, cultural showcases, and facilities for migratory birds, which have resulted in increased oxygen levels in the lake.

The initiative also generates employment opportunities and promotes sustainable urban rejuvenation by blending ecological preservation with community recreation, contributing to a cleaner and more livable Agartala.
