Record Breaker: NMDC Limited Achieves 53 MT Production Milestone

NMDC Limited became the first mining company in India to surpass the 50 MT annual output mark with a historic production of 53.15 MT in FY26. It is India’s largest iron ore producer.

Production increased by 21% year-on-year at the state-owned mine, while sales reached an all-time high of 50.23 MT, up 13% from the previous year.

Compared to the same month last year, production increased by 51% and sales by 40%, resulting in 5.35 MT and 5.90 MT, respectively, for the company.

Important mining assets, such as Chhattisgarh’s Kirandul and Bacheli and Karnataka’s Donimalai, drove the excellent growth by producing record output during the fiscal. Reinforcing its role in infrastructural building and industrial expansion, the company’s high-grade iron ore continues to serve India’s leading steel makers.

With the help of new mining operations, capacity growth, and infrastructure development, NMDC plans to increase output capacity to more than 100 MT by 2030.

Chief Management Director Amitava Mukherjee stated that the organization has “set a decisive pace for FY27” and is still committed to the larger goal of enabling a Viksit Bharat.
