Ravi Ranjan has been appointed as the Managing Director of the State Bank of India (SBI), effective December 15, as announced by the Finance Ministry’s Department of Financial Services.
He will serve until his retirement on September 30, 2028. Previously, Ranjan was the Deputy Managing Director, leading SBI’s Global Markets and overseeing the Corporate Accounts Group.
SBI recently reported a 6.4% increase in consolidated net profit for Q2 FY26, totaling Rs 21,504.49 crore, bolstered by loan growth and improved asset quality, though its domestic net interest margin declined to 3.09%.
