Rajasthan Gets First Arab Mix Crude Oil Consignment via Mundra Port

The 7th meeting of the State-Level Task Force for HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) was chaired by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas in Jaipur.

The refinery project, critical for both the state and the nation, is nearing completion with 90.3% overall progress and 96.4% in refinery unit construction.

The first shipment of Arab Mix crude oil has arrived at Mundra Port and will be transported to the refinery via pipeline. Outside Battery Limits work is nearly complete at 99.8%.

HRRL officials reported smooth progress attributed to the Rajasthan Government’s support, alongside the successful commissioning of the refinery’s flare system with active gas supply from the Mehsana–Bhatinda Pipeline. Additionally, water supply from the Nachna reservoir has begun.

Significantly, the refinery features a zero liquid effluent discharge system to prevent wastewater release. Plans include a 12-km railway line construction by Railways linking Balotra to Pachpadra, with connectivity to the refinery being handled by HRRL.

The project promises substantial opportunities for investment, job creation, and revenue uplift for the region. Issues reviewed included railway connectivity, power substation establishment, and potential VAT reductions on locally sourced crude oil.
