Pixxel has raised $100 million in Series C funding, marking the largest single funding round for a space technology company in India. The Pixxel $100 Million Funding round takes the Bengaluru-based spacetech startup’s total funding to $195 million and will support its expansion across satellite sensing, Earth intelligence and advanced space systems.
Pixxel $100 Million Funding Boosts Space-Tech Expansion
The latest Pixxel $100 Million Funding will accelerate the development of the company’s next-generation Honeybee hyperspectral satellite constellation. The first Honeybee satellite is expected to launch in 2027.
The funding will also support new satellite technologies, including shortwave infrared (SWIR) capabilities, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and ultra-high-resolution optical imaging.
Pixxel Funding to Expand Earth Intelligence Platform
Pixxel started by developing hyperspectral satellites capable of capturing information beyond conventional satellite imagery. The company has since expanded into Earth intelligence software and satellite systems.
The latest funding will help Pixxel further develop Aurora, its Earth intelligence platform. Aurora combines multiple datasets to generate decision-ready insights for governments, industries and institutions.
Pixxel Plans Satellite Manufacturing Expansion
The company plans to increase satellite manufacturing capacity in India and the United States to support the production of advanced satellite systems.
Pixxel is also expanding its work on sovereign Earth observation systems for civil, defence and intelligence applications. The investment is expected to strengthen the company’s infrastructure and technological capabilities.
Pixxel Raises Total Funding to $195 Million
The $100 million Series C funding follows Pixxel’s deployment of six Firefly satellites over the past two years and the launch of its Aurora platform.
The company has also secured contracts with NASA and the US National Reconnaissance Office. It has won multiple iDEX challenges from India’s Ministry of Defence and was selected to lead the development of India’s first public-private Earth observation constellation of 12 satellites under IN-SPACe.
