PFC Highlights Advanced IT/OT Tech to Accelerate India’s Power Sector Growth

At the 2026 Bharat Electricity Summit (BES), Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) demonstrated its growing role as a technology enabler by showcasing a set of technologies for improving power distribution and speeding up grid modernisation that were both indigenous and driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

Expanding its role beyond that of a traditional bank, PFC showcased new technologies such as an in-house SCADA-ADMS-OMS platform, asset mapping powered by GeoAI, systems for real-time fault detection, and electrification solutions for the last mile. The National SCADA Resource Centre was another point of emphasis for the corporation, demonstrating its dedication to utility operating efficiency and capacity building.

The Japanese-developed Micro Substation solution was a main draw of the pavilion; it offered a cheap way to increase access to power in unserved regions.

The measures, spearheaded by Parminder Chopra, demonstrate PFC’s commitment to facilitating a robust, efficient, and independently powered power system that is in line with the nation’s objectives.

Distribution businesses (DISCOMs), legislators, and industry insiders all showed up to the pavilion to see the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) reforms in action through live demonstrations.

By taking part in BES 2026, PFC is reiterating its commitment to spearheading India’s energy transition via technological advancement, digitisation, and environmentally responsible infrastructure development.
