Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited (NUPPL) has announced the successful Commercial Operation Declaration (COD) of Unit-2 (660 MW) at the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project, effective December 09, 2025.
Following its synchronization with the grid on July 20, 2025, Unit-2 completed a full-load trial operation within 19 days. With this addition, the total operational capacity is now 1,320 MW, enhancing power supply to Uttar Pradesh and Assam.
The project is expected to generate 14,743.08 MUs annually upon completion of all units, benefiting approximately 12 million households. The development underscores NUPPL’s commitment to environmental standards and job creation, projecting around 25,000 job opportunities.
Additionally, NUPPL is advancing the Pachwara South Open Cast Project to ensure a sustainable fuel source for the plant.
