As part of its strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in Assam, NTPC Limited – Bongaigaon signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Cosmic Foundation, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on 2 February 2026. This will help increase access to safe drinking water and promote solutions based on renewable energy.
In the presence of Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, and Anurag Gupta, GM (O&M), NTPC Bongaigaon, as well as Arindam Sinha, Regional Executive Director (Eastern Region – II & Southern Region), NTPC Limited, the MoA was signed. Both the NTPC Bongaigaon and the Cosmic Foundation were represented by Shri Amit Kumar Asthana, AGM (HR), and Shri Awanish Tripathi, President, respectively, when they signed the MoA.
The Ministry of Agriculture has approved a project costing ₹43 lakh to install and commission 10 Solar Water Reverse Osmosis (RO) Systems at designated public places around the Guwahati Parliamentary Constituency. Various places in Guwahati will have reliable access to safe drinking water using clean and sustainable energy solutions. Each system will be equipped with a 1200 Wp MNRE-approved solar module, which is IP66, ROHS and CE compliant and ISO 14001:2015 certified. It will also have a 500-litre storage capacity.
Arindam Sinha, speaking on behalf of NTPC, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to community welfare and sustainable development, stressing that the availability of clean water for human consumption is an important component of good corporate citizenship. Awanish Tripathi thanked the team for working together and promised that the project would be completed on schedule with high-quality installation and ongoing system maintenance.
By combining renewable energy sources with vital social infrastructure, the project exemplifies NTPC Bongaigaon’s ongoing endeavours to coordinate its CSR initiatives with SDG-6, Clean Water & Sanitation. Public health outcomes and ecologically responsible infrastructure within the Guwahati Parliamentary Constituency are anticipated to be improved by the project, leading to sustained social impact.
