New Strategic Partnership to form during Modi’s Malaysia Tour

The purpose of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Malaysia, which began on February 7, is to strengthen economic and innovative collaborations between the two countries and to strengthen defence and security cooperation.

Significantly, their connection was recently elevated to a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’, coinciding with this two-day visit—his third to Malaysia.’

By highlighting the two countries’ shared history and the positive developments in bilateral relations, Modi expressed his desire to meet with Anwar Ibrahim and engage with the Indian diaspora, who are an important link between India and Malaysia.

The purpose of the visit is to attend the 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum, where the leaders of the two countries will discuss and evaluate their extensive cooperation in areas such as healthcare, trade, investment, and cultural exchanges; this will build the groundwork for future collaborations.
