In keeping with this year’s theme, “Engage, Educate and Empower People to Enhance Safety”, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) marked National Safety Day at its Training Centre. The company reiterated its commitment to operational safety and risk mitigation. Nandakumar V. Pillai, director of the refinery, stressed the importance of safety and emphasised the need to follow SOPs to the letter. Devendra Kumar, Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer, reiterated the leadership’s dedication to supporting decisions driven by safety and empowering staff across all levels.

In order to prevent incidents and ensure the safety of people, assets, and the environment, senior leadership emphasised the importance of ongoing involvement, training, and accountability. The programme had a multilingual Safety Pledge, the Annual Fire & Safety Activity Report was presented, and those who had excelled in safety were honoured.

All along its refining and marketing value chain, MRPL has maintained a strong focus on operational discipline and safety culture, and this observance is a reflection of that.
