In a written reply to Parliament, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reported that the IRCTC website achieved an uptime of 99.98% during April-October, 2023, compared to 99.86% in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
To enhance system reliability, Indian Railways has implemented administrative measures such as deactivating suspicious accounts and complaints handling via the National Cyber Crime Portal.
Technological upgrades include an anti-BOT application and third-party infrastructure audits, leading to over 87% of total reserved tickets being e-booked. Despite a low complaint rate of 0.0008%, issues like transaction failures are monitored for prompt resolution.
Additionally, improvements in meal quality and hygiene are ongoing, with measures like CCTV monitoring in kitchens and the introduction of QR codes for meal traceability. All catering units are required to meet FSSAI food safety standards.
