Investor Accounts on NSE Cross 24 Crore Mark

Investor accounts on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) have exceeded 24 crore, just one year after surpassing the 20 crore mark.

As of October 31, 2025, there are 12.2 crore unique registered investors, with individual investors holding 18.75% of NSE-listed companies, the highest in 22 years.

Maharashtra leads with the largest share of accounts at 17%, followed by Uttar Pradesh (11%) and Gujarat (9%). Investor protection measures and digitalisation have boosted confidence, with 11,875 Investor Awareness Programs reaching 6.2 lakh participants in FY26.

NSE’s Investor Protection Fund grew 19% YoY to Rs 2,719 crore, alongside strong returns from Nifty indices over the past five years.
