India and Finland to Forge Advanced Strategic Ties in Arctic and Polar Research

Following talks with Alexander Stubb at Hyderabad House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised enhanced collaboration in Arctic and polar research and praised Finland as a key Nordic partner on Thursday.

Teacher preparation, school-community connections, and educational systems prepared for the future will all be areas of increased collaboration between the two parties.

In order to fortify innovation links, research collaboration, and startup ecosystems, a thorough migration and mobility agreement was also inked.

According to Modi, Finland and India are strengthening their relationship into a strategic alliance that will work on digitalisation and sustainability in areas such as artificial intelligence, 6G telecom, clean energy, quantum computing, semiconductors, defence, space, and essential minerals.

Modi cited the recently negotiated EU free trade deal as an example of the increasing interaction between India and Europe, saying that it will improve the flow of commerce, investment, and technology between Finland and India.

Amidst global geopolitical uncertainties, the leaders underscored the importance of democratic partners working together more closely to strengthen supply chains and establish trustworthy technology frameworks.
