Global semiconductor CEOs, lawmakers, and industry heavyweights will gather on March 1 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, for the Semiconnect Conference, which will be the third edition of its kind. The purpose of the gathering is to discuss India’s increasing role in the global semiconductor value chain.
The Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM) and the state’s Department of Science and Technology are coordinating the two-day conference. With semiconductors at the centre of India’s growth strategy, the event is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aim of technological self-reliance.
Dignitaries such as Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will be present to launch the conference.
The slogan “Gujarat: India’s Gateway to Silicon” is an attempt by the state to reaffirm its desire to become a leading centre for semiconductor processing and research. Developing a skilled workforce, improving India’s electronic environment, and preparing for the logistics and export of facilities like Dholera and Sanand will be the main topics of discussion.
