Fuel Relief: Indian Oil Corporation Limited Reassures Consumers on Availability

With the government taking extra precautions to protect fuel supply chains from global uncertainty, IndianOil, a subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, assured on Saturday that the country’s petrol, diesel and LPG supplies are sufficient.

The PSU has stated that it is keeping a careful eye on its distribution network across the country and is actively working to reduce the practice of hoarding and the sale of LPG cylinders for illicit purposes.

It was stressed in a public advisory that supply lines are robust despite geopolitical concerns and disruptions along important channels like the Strait of Hormuz, so customers shouldn’t panic buy or make needless LPG reservations.

The Indian refinery sector has hedged against global volatility, according to officials, since it has secured crude supply for the next several months and can continue to draw from a variety of suppliers.

The recent arrival and discharge of an LPG consignment from Iran at the Mangaluru port has been announced by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, adding to the assistance for local supplies.

Regular press briefings are being held by 21 states and union territories to combat misinformation, and the Centre has ordered chief secretaries to increase communication through electronic and social media.

Furthermore, oil marketing organisations are allowing 5-kilogram LPG cylinders to be accessed without confirmation of address. Customers now have easier access to the product, as sales of almost 5.7 lakh units, including more than 71,000 cylinders in a single day, have been recorded since March 23.

Officials have stressed again that gasoline supplies are steady and that they are working together to avoid any shortages that might be caused by human error.
