In a significant development aimed at enhancing India’s LNG logistics and maritime capabilities, GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, has inked a long-term charter party agreement with Greek shipping giant Alpha Gas for the LNG carrier Energy Fidelity.
The deal was finalised with Alpha Gas’s Singaporean partner, Pantheon Maritime Services Private Limited. Energy Fidelity, an LNG carrier, makes use of cutting-edge marine technology to cut pollution and maximise fuel efficiency.
As part of the Indian government’s Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, GAIL has reached a significant milestone with the long-term charter. Working together in this way furthers GAIL’s goals of increasing India’s energy independence and diversifying its LNG supply around the world.
