Bringing its total operational Independent Power Producer (IPP) capacity to 589 MWp, KPI Green Energy Limited has announced the energisation of an additional 35 MWp solar capacity. This is a major step forward in the company’s meteoric rise in the renewable energy market in India.
According to the corporation, their current projects are putting them on schedule to commission 1,582 MWp more, bringing their overall IPP portfolio to 2.17 GWp in the next quarter. With the help of its long-term power purchase agreements and its established engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) skills, KPI Green aims to improve its asset-backed IPP model, which is evident in its expansion. Many of the Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) supporting the expanding IPP portfolio have durations of up to 25 years, according to the firm. These contracts solidify the firm’s commitment to sustainable growth in the renewable energy industry over the long term and give a reliable source of income in the form of an annuity.
Renewable energy companies can contribute to India’s clean energy targets and keep their revenue flows constant with these agreements that guarantee consistent electricity offtake. Multiple large-scale solar and hybrid projects in India have allowed KPI Green Energy to significantly increase its renewable energy footprint.
