Anand Vihar station, the biggest electric vehicle charging point along the Namo Bharat corridor, has been operationalised by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation, enhancing the green mobility infrastructure for the last mile in the Delhi-NCR region.
Up to ten electric vehicles can be charged at once at this facility’s ten high-voltage fast chargers, which have a combined capacity of 480 kW. Quick turnaround times for customers are supported by the chargers, which can power four-wheelers to over 80% in roughly 30 minutes. Heavy commercial EVs also have their own designated charging stations.
User registration, slot reservations, real-time charging status monitoring, and digital payment processing are all made possible through the hub’s integration with the Electrify mobile app, guaranteeing a streamlined and open experience.
There are ongoing efforts to ramp up charging infrastructure at important bus depots such as Kashmiri Gate, Sarai Kale Khan, and Anand Vihar, and this development is in line with those plans. The Delhi government and the Delhi Transport Corporation are leading the broader effort to create an electric vehicle ecosystem.
This expansion brings the total number of Namo Bharat stations with electric vehicle charging infrastructure to eight. These stations are Sahibabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North, and Meerut South. Standard and rapid charging options are available at each of these stations.
The NCRTC has indicated that the program will help achieve sustainability and pollution reduction targets, as well as improve the ease of commuters and encourage the adoption of electric vehicles. In the future, the firm intends to extend the same infrastructure to more stations.
