BEML Unveils India’s First Excavator with Integrated Dredge Pump at KGF

The Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) complex in India has taken a giant leap forward in its dredging and desilting capabilities with the debut of a Long Reach Excavator combined with a dredge pump by BEML Limited.

The PSU partnered with Dragflow S.r.l. to launch an excavator equipped with a dredge pump, making it the pioneering Indian OEM to do so. Sediment removal from waterways like rivers, canals, reservoirs, and coastlines can be enhanced with the help of this equipment. The new method is perfect for desilting and dredging in shallow water because of its increased reach, adaptability, and cost efficiency. The launch is in line with the objectives of the India Maritime Vision 2030, which seeks to improve water infrastructure and fortify inland waterways.

In the presence of authorities from the Indian Navy and BEML leadership, including Complex Head Yogananda G., the equipment was launched by Anandji Prasad, Director (Technical-Operations) at Western Coalfields Limited. This launch is part of BEML’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its position in the marine and dredging market by providing cutting-edge, locally sourced machinery for building new infrastructure.
