Bank of Baroda, NSDL Join Hands to Boost Government Banking Services in Bihar

In order to offer complete technical and banking support for the Agency Bank operations of the Office of the Registrar General, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, in the state of Bihar, Bank of Baroda (BoB) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NSDL Database Management Limited (NDML). Senior representatives from both organisations attended a meeting to formally establish the collaboration. General Manager and Zonal Head (Patna Zone), Subrat Swain, and several senior officials, including Deputy General Manager (Government Relationship) Baljeet Singh, represented Bank of Baroda. Managing Director and CEO Sameer Gupte and Head of Business Hamid Arif represented NDML.

By providing the crucial technological platform needed for the activities, NDML will serve as the Technical Service Provider. The banking and financial activities, such as collecting receipts and sending money to the Reserve Bank of India, would be managed by Bank of Baroda. This partnership demonstrates Bank of Baroda’s targeted approach to bolstering its portfolio of government businesses. BoB hopes to create a strong digital infrastructure and guarantee smooth, effective payment systems for government organisations by utilising NDML’s technological know-how. It is anticipated that the project will improve the Bihar Registrar General’s office’s operational effectiveness, enabling more seamless public service delivery.

The decision is in keeping with the country’s larger movement toward digital governance and more efficient financial exchanges between banks, government agencies, and citizens.
