Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani strengthened the group’s growing infrastructure presence in Bihar and Jharkhand by reviewing important thermal power developments in eastern India on Sunday.
Adani examined the 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant, built with an investment of more than Rs 16,000 crore, during his visit to Godda, Jharkhand.
The project has improved regional rail connectivity and created a large number of direct and indirect jobs in a region that is primarily inhabited by indigenous peoples. As part of a long-term cross-border arrangement, the plant sends electricity to Bangladesh.
With an anticipated expenditure of more than Rs 27,000 crore, Adani evaluated plans for a 2,400 MW ultra-supercritical power project near Bhagalpur in Bihar. The project would be located at Pirpainti.
With an anticipated completion date of four or five years, the project will help meet the state’s increasing need for electricity from both urban and industrial areas.
