The Special Award for Exceptional Leadership in Elevating UK-India Relations was presented to Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal at the Annual UK-India Awards 2026 in London. His outstanding work in enhancing India and the UK’s strategic, economic, and trade ties has been duly acknowledged with this esteemed award.
Given that the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is set to take effect on July 15, 2026, marking a watershed moment in bilateral relations, the award is timely. This agreement will allow for greater economic integration, more trade, and better investment cooperation between the two countries.

While accepting the award, Goyal made the comment, “the best innings of the India-UK partnership are yet to come,” indicating his optimism about the future of the two countries’ relationship and their ability to work together more effectively.
