NTPC Bongaigaon Strengthens Education in Arunachal Pradesh with ₹1.80 Crore VKV Balijan Project

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, NTPC Bongaigaon has inaugurated a massive educational infrastructure project at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) in Balijan, Arunachal Pradesh, further solidifying its dedication to high-quality education and community development. Learning opportunities and academic infrastructure for kids in the region are likely to be considerably improved by the initiative, which was implemented at a cost of ₹1.80 crore.

The project aims to enhance the educational environment for both students and teachers by constructing and developing five classrooms, a library, and contemporary science laboratories. In response to the increasing demand for education in the region, the facilities have been planned to foster students’ intellectual growth, practical skills, and personal development.

In a ceremony attended by Takar Rava, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Balijan, senior officials of NTPC Bongaigaon, Sujatha Nayak, Secretary of VKV Balijan, and a large number of teachers, students, parents, community members, and local stakeholders, Nabam Vivek, Member of Legislative Assembly of the 14th Doimukh Constituency, Arunachal Pradesh, officially opened the recently constructed facilities.

At the inaugural ceremony, NTPC Bongaigaon continued its long-term commitment to bolstering educational institutions and facilitating possibilities for comprehensive development via smart corporate social responsibility interventions. The project is in line with the company’s goals of laying a solid groundwork for generations to come and investing in human resources.

In order to foster scientific research and innovation and to give students actual experience in their study, the initiative aims to build state-of-the-art science laboratories. The development of a scientific temperament and the enhancement of STEM education are two areas that these labs are anticipated to significantly impact.

Students will have access to a wealth of reference and academic materials through the renovated library, which will function as a center for knowledge. In addition to assisting with classroom and independent study, it is believed to promote reading habits, research skills, and intellectual growth.

The addition of five new classrooms will also greatly enhance the academic infrastructure of the school by providing additional room for learning and making it easier to accommodate the growing number of students. The university will be able to provide a better setting for teaching and learning thanks to the upgraded facilities.

At the event, speakers from NTPC and VKV Balijan stressed the importance of education as a tool for societal change and nation-building. In doing so, they brought attention to the need for a high-quality educational system that encourages critical thinking among students, improves their academic performance, and prepares them for the workforce of the future.

A number of NTPC leaders have stressed the importance of the company’s continued dedication to CSR projects with a long-term social benefit. Education investments lead to community empowerment, economic development, and inclusive growth, they said.

In a statement, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Balijan’s representatives thanked NTPC Bongaigaon for their substantial CSR support of the school. The new facilities, they said, will improve education for hundreds of kids for years to come and make a big difference.

Education, healthcare, skill development, environmental sustainability, and community welfare are all areas where NTPC Limited—one of India’s premier power generation companies—continues to launch CSR programs with significant impacts. By implementing these programs, NTPC Bongaigaon is making a significant impact on the neighbouring communities, contributing to their socio-economic growth and increasing their quality of life.
