India Secures $40 Billion Investment Pledges During Narendra Modi’s Five-Nation Diplomatic Visit

According to experts, India has secured an estimated investment pipeline of about $40 billion during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent five-nation tour. During the tour, global firms and partner nations announced significant pledges and expansion plans across critical sectors.

More than fifty international firms from industries such as technology, logistics, semiconductors, and infrastructure met with Prime Minister Modi and other top officials during the visit.

The participating companies have a combined market capitalisation of almost $2.7-3 trillion, according to officials. This highlights the magnitude of the worldwide commercial engagement that took place during the tour.

It is believed that these companies have spent almost $180 billion in India between investments and business exposure, and several of them already have substantial presences there.

In light of India’s robust economic growth, increasing consumer demand, and better investment climate, numerous corporations are reportedly considering more expansion in the country.

The United Arab Emirates pledged new investments to India totalling about $5 billion as one of the major announcements made during the visit.

Indian officials have described the tour’s results as a “strong vote of confidence” in the country’s long-term economic prospects, with new investment commitments and planned company expansion plans valued at about $40 billion.

During Prime Minister Modi’s five-nation tour—which included the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy—India inked numerous agreements and strengthened strategic ties with partner nations.

A road map for a strategic alliance was announced by India and the Netherlands, with an emphasis on green hydrogen, trade, military, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.

In addition to the Prime Minister’s attendance at the third India-Nordic Summit in Norway and bilateral discussions with Nordic leaders, ties between India and Sweden were agreed to be elevated to a strategic partnership.

After talks between Modi and Giorgia Meloni, the prime ministers of Italy and India further upgraded their ties to a Special Strategic Partnership.

“A highly fruitful trip to Italy has come to a close. According to Prime Minister Modi’s post on X, “My discussions with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni covered a wide range of sectors.” He went on to say that the strengthened collaboration will give bilateral cooperation new life.

According to Randhir Jaiswal, a spokeswoman for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the visit to Italy marked the end of Prime Minister Modi’s diplomatic tour, which he had hoped would bring about positive changes and fresh energy in India’s ties with Italy and its other partner nations.
