The campaign for energy conservation and fuel savings in the country is now becoming visible in the conduct of government ministers as well. Following appeals by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) Narendra Kashyap has also taken a major step toward saving energy.
Minister Narendra Kashyap has decided to remove two vehicles from the four-car security convoy assigned to him. From now on, he will travel with only two vehicles. Along with this, he also announced that if he has to cover distances of 100, 200, or 500 meters in nearby areas of Lucknow, the Assembly, ministerial residence, or Ghaziabad, he will walk or, if necessary, use government bus and railway services.
Minister Narendra Kashyap said that energy conservation in the national interest has become one of the greatest needs of the time. He stated that considering international petrol and diesel prices, every citizen should take responsibility for saving fuel. He also appealed to the public to prevent unnecessary electricity consumption in their homes. The minister said that he would keep only the fan and light running in the room where he is staying or sleeping, while electrical appliances in the remaining rooms would remain switched off.
He said that by making small changes in habits, the country can save crores of units of electricity and lakhs of liters of fuel. This would not only result in economic savings but also significantly help environmental protection.
Minister to walk even for Chief Minister’s meeting
Minister Narendra Kashyap informed that he has an important meeting scheduled with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday evening. To attend the meeting, he will walk from his residence to the Chief Minister’s office. He said that if public representatives and officials themselves set an example, ordinary citizens would also become serious about energy conservation.
Appealing to the people of the state, he said that everyone should pledge to save energy in the national interest. He emphasized that today the need is not only for government schemes but also for public participation. If every citizen understands their responsibility, the country can strongly face the challenges of energy crisis and rising fuel costs.
