Pabitra Margherita, the Union Minister of State for External Affairs, met with Yasser Handal Carcamo, the Honduran Secretary of Culture, Arts and Heritage, to discuss ways to strengthen cultural and interpersonal relations between the two countries.
The two groups met to talk about how to work together more closely in the creative industries, wellness, film, and other forms of cross-cultural communication. As part of her official visit to Honduras, Margherita will be engaging in this engagement, with the goal of enhancing bilateral relations after the new administration takes office in January 2026.
Ministers from both Honduras and India are visiting each other for the first time since the elections, a sign of the rekindled diplomatic ties between the two nations.

To discuss potential areas of collaboration in innovation, capacity development, and assistance for Indian companies, he met with Paula Bogantes Zamora, Costa Rica’s minister of science and technology. Additionally, he met with Manuel Tovar, the foreign minister, to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and reiterate their shared support for multilateralism and a rule-based global order.
The minister met with Costa Rica’s Indian community and spoke about how the diaspora helps India stand out on a global scale.
During her visit, Margherita paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and emphasised his message of nonviolence and peace. She also inaugurated the ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ Wall at the University for Peace in San Jose, which symbolises India’s philosophy of global harmony.
With his seedling planting, he joined the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, which highlights India’s dedication to sustainability and ecological responsibility on a worldwide scale.
