The Public Relations Society of India organised the 4th Telangana Public Relations Conference in Hyderabad, coinciding with National Public Relations Day celebrations, where Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited, received the prestigious ‘Pride of Telangana’ Award.
The award recognises Motupalli’s exemplary leadership and significant contributions to India’s energy sector, particularly in driving operational excellence, sustainability, and innovation at NLC India. The honour was presented by K. Sreenivas Reddy, Ch. Priyanka and K. Nageswar, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries from government and industry.
A native of Bhadrachalam in Telangana, Motupalli said the recognition holds special significance because it comes from his home state. Under his leadership, NLC India has strengthened its presence across lignite mining, thermal power generation, and renewable energy, while enhancing governance standards and operational efficiency.
The company currently supplies approximately 400 MW of power to the Telugu states, strengthening regional energy security and economic growth. It diversifies, expands capacity, and advances digital transformation, while implementing employee-centric and community-focused initiatives.
A Navratna public sector enterprise, NLC India, continues to reinforce its position through consistent performance and a strong focus on sustainable growth.
Motupalli dedicated the award to NLC India’s employees, acknowledging their collective efforts and reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to excellence and nation-building.
