Record Run: Adani Green Energy Limited Adds Over 5 GW Renewable Capacity in FY26

In FY 2025-26, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) increased its total operational portfolio to 19.3 GW with the addition of more than 5 GW of renewable energy capacity, making it one of the biggest yearly greenfield expansions globally outside of China.

A total of 3.4 GW of solar power, 0.7 GW of wind power, and 1 GW of wind-solar hybrid projects make up the capacity boost. An estimated 36 million tonnes of carbon offset is produced each year by AGEL’s whole portfolio, including the recently operational assets, which should offset around 10 million tonnes of carbon emissions.

The achievement, says Sagar Adani, is a major step toward the company’s goal of reaching 50 GW capacity by 2030 and the low-carbon transition in India. It will also help increase energy security.

The world’s largest renewable energy park, being created by AGEL in Khavda, Gujarat, has already deployed a significant amount of the additional capacity. The project, which spans 538 sq km, has an installed capacity of 9.4 GW so far and is set to develop up to 30 GW by 2029.

The site’s 1,376 MWh of BESS, which the business has operationalised, improves grid stability and integrates renewable energy sources. In order to make things more efficient and environmentally friendly, cutting-edge technology including waterless robotic cleaning, high-capacity wind turbines, solar tracking systems, and bifacial solar modules are being used.

The development highlights India’s increasing role in the global clean energy scene and further solidifies AGEL’s position as a renewable energy leader.
