The X Glitch: Why India Was the Epicenter of the Latest Global Platform Outage

An international outage affected users in several countries on Monday night, including the United States, the United Kingdom, India, and others. Elon Musk runs X Corp. Many users expressed frustration about the platform’s inability to load content or log in.

Down Detector, an outage tracking portal, reported a rise in the number of reports to more than 25,000. Out of the people affected, 16% had trouble logging in on the internet and 53% on the app.

At this time, the root cause of the outage is unknown, and X has not addressed the problem.

This is the latest in a series of disruptions that X has been experiencing. In November 2025, thousands of people around the world saw similar disruptions due to infrastructure issues with Cloudflare. These issues were later resolved. May 2025 was a rough month for the platform due to global outages; some customers had trouble signing in, while others had problems with the website or app.

With thousands of Indian users attempting to access X but failing, Down Detector has registered over 5,000 reports worldwide.
