On February 9, 2026, in the MRPL Recreation Centre, the National Hindi Seminar “Evolving Journey of Official Language with Harmony and Inclusion” was started by Kumar Pal Sharma, joint director from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The seminar was held by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).
The occasion was presided over by Krishna Hegde Miyar, the General Manager (HR) of MRPL, and the Guest of Honour was Dr Dheeraj Kumar Mishra. In his speech, Miyar praised the rich cultural and linguistic variety of India and stressed the importance of Hindi as the country’s official language in bringing the people together.
He argued that Hindi should evolve to represent the nation’s real character by embracing all linguistic groups.
At the conference, which aimed to raise awareness and foster inclusiveness around the official language, almost 200 people from different public sector undertakings, Central Government agencies, and local institutions linked to Mangalore University participated in five educational sessions.
