In the Cuddalore district in particular, NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has long engaged in substantial corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable and inclusive growth. These initiatives have included desilting lakes, free healthcare, the provision of safe drinking water, the improvement of educational infrastructure, and the construction of safe drinking water infrastructure.
On 30 January, NLC India Limited and the District Administration/District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) of Cuddalore exchanged MoUs to conduct important infrastructure development projects as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
Officials from both NLCIL and the District Administration were present when Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar, IAS, District Collector; R. A. Priyanga, IAS, Additional Collector (Development); and D.V.S. Narayana Murthy, Executive Director (Corporate Legal, CSR & Medical), NLCIL, exchanged memoranda of understanding. This move is a big deal because it will help improve the district’s public infrastructure and the residents’ standard of living.
To support its mission and the nation’s sustainable development goals, NLCIL has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) committing 20 crores rupees to various community welfare projects, as well as to the improvement of healthcare, education, drinking water, sanitation, and other related infrastructure.
In addition to helping the local community in the short term, the planned projects would also boost the economy and social fabric of Cuddalore District in the long run.
