172 Railway Stations Revamped Under Amrit Bharat Scheme

According to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, 172 railway stations have been refurbished as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Stations will be better connected to city areas, and facilities like waiting rooms and restrooms will be upgraded as part of the plan to make them more accessible. Important elements consist of broader footbridges, lifts, escalators, better parking, integration of several modes of transportation, and environmentally friendly solutions.

Furthermore, a thorough inspection system was put in place, and 8,626 railway bridges were either repaired or reconstructed between 2022 and December 2025. Twenty percent of large bridges undergo annual inspections, with more frequent checks performed as needed. Inspections occur every six months. Subways and Road Under Bridges (RUBs) have also been fortified against water infiltration.
