Solar Boost: NLC India Renewables Clinches 600 MW SECI Project

The company informed stock exchanges on 3 February that NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, had received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) to establish a 600 MW solar power project with 300 MW/1900 MWh energy storage systems (ESS).

Included in the 1,200 MW solar capacity with 600 MW/3,600 MWh ESS tender that SECI won through tariff-based competitive bidding is this project. In accordance with the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, NIRL formally accepted the LoA on February 3, 2026.

The grant specifies that NIRL will enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to deliver the project’s generated electricity for 25 years. The disclosure states that the complete project capacity’s Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD) has been set at 24 months from the implementation date of the PPA. The project, which would include electricity generation and long-term supply, was given the contract by a domestic body. The company has made it clear that neither the promoter nor any of the entities in the promoter group have any financial stake in SECI, therefore avoiding the classification of related-party transactions.

As part of its vision for a sustainable energy transition, the Navratna public sector business known as NLC India Limited is actively growing its presence in the renewable energy industry.
