Adani Group Steps Up Green Power Push Amid Rising Energy Demand

Adani Group is intensifying its commitment to renewable energy in response to India’s rising power demand, projected to increase significantly by 2030. Chairman Gautam Adani visited the Great Rann of Kutch, where a major renewable energy park aiming for 20 GW capacity will be developed.

The Group has pledged $75 billion over five years to support India’s clean energy transition, aligning with the country’s goal of sourcing over 50% of electricity from non-fossil fuels ahead of 2030. Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) is rapidly expanding its renewable portfolio, with a target of 50 GW by 2030.

The Khavda project in Gujarat aims to be the world’s largest power plant, while AGEL is also investing in battery storage and pumped hydro projects to ensure energy dispatchability.

The group’s manufacturing ecosystem further bolsters its strategy, emphasizing speed, scale, and integration to meet increasing energy demands as urbanization and industrial growth continue in India.
